*My Little Midnight Box*

Live for today. Plan tomorrow. Party tonight.

The December Little Box arrived just about a week ago now and I’ve finally decided to share its content with you today, 3 days before Christmas! Are you excited? I bet you are – this enchanting time of the year is beautiful in many ways. Everything seems magical and this time is perfect to repent and do good to others (though this should occur every single day of the year!).

This Little Midnight Box was wonderful! I really loved it :) My Little World magazine displayed, as usual, the most beautiful photos, I got a very nice golden Christmas tree bauble, a beautiful clutch hiding a secret message on the inside (‘Don’t bring me back before midnight’ in English), a sparkling nail polish (perfect for this time of the year ^^), a piping red lipstick and my already very cherished two-in-one liner pencil <3

In a few words, this box was a great first Christmas present but I would like to tell you something that made me way happier; it is about a smile and about tears. In short, it is a xmas story, a very recent one that happened to me in my daily life at uni… So here’s my Christmas carol to you…

At uni, a Watch out For Santa was organised & last Thursday was time for all the secret Santas to give their presents :)  I really enjoyed taking part in this lovely christmas operation and I’m very glad to have stood up for it! I had published this status below on my personal Facebook wall before the beginning of the operation…

« This is actually something really worth taking part in! I know some of you were and still are pretty reluctant, but do you realise you might not have to spend a single penny for this? I mean, bringing a smile to somebody’s face is most of the time completely free! Think about it! Think about what would make you the happiest person on earth this Christmas! Is it material? I have personally recently answered that question in my very last blogpost and I can assure you, your answer to that question, just like mine, will surely be NO (unless you’re some kind of insensitive person, whose only interest lies in material goods!)! Anyway, learn to know people, learn to know who and what’s important to them and take part in this ‘operation’ without necessarily spend money! Make someone happy, and simply give its true meaning back to Christmas!
Love always,
Your ESTRI friend,
Marie «

And when I offered my personalised and completely fee-free present to my friend Marie (a video composed of christmas messages from her New Zealander friends she met last year during our six-month experience in an English-speaking country), I was so happy to have moved her :)  It’s just the best reception I could get! But let me explain it in a bit more details…

There are actually 2 reasons why I decided to make this gift to Marie…

The first one is simple; I just wanted to show people that what would make someone the happiest isn’t something material but something genuine and authentic. I wanted to prove to reluctant people that the most beautiful gifts never cost you anything! Look at Marie’s video of her New Zealander friends who all left her adorable messages; it’s simple and it has moved her in a way nothing else would have! And guess what? My purse is still intact! ;)

The second reason to this present is more personal… Like most of ESTRI students (I guess), I miss my English friends a lot; I don’t think I could even describe how much I miss them. They’re completely part of my life and all deeply live in my heart… I thought about this present a lot and first I was a bit uncertain, I didn’t know what I was going to do. All I wanted was bring a giant smile on my friend’s face, touch her heart and once again show people that the best Xmas present is definitely not payable, for the best Xmas present you can get is something that will affect the deepest part of your heart and not fill a temporary desire… And so as to do so, I simply thought « Marie… what would make YOU the happiest person on earth this Christmas? » and that was it, I had found my idea! I had found what would have brought the same tears to my eyes as the ones my gift brought to Marie’s :)

May your Christmas be guided by this spirit! Sending all my very best wishes to all of you <3
