A day in Nancy

The sun was with us that day, and despite the modern part of the town I found fairly dull, I came back delighted thinking of the majestic cobblestoned Place Stanislas, its gold decorations and immense gates at each corner, as well as the sun visors of the boutiques that have made a home of the square, all looking like those of sweet shops from a time I have neither known or lived in.

A Sunday stroll in Saucourt

A few weeks ago, my mum and I visited my aunt and uncle in Haute-Marne, in north-eastern France. We made the most of these few days at the heart of landscapes rather different from those we are used to living in and that we know, i.e. Burgundy’s vineyards and its small, so atypically charming villages. A three-hour drive up north away, everything is flat and there are immense stretches of gigantic pine forests.
