Paris, winter 2016.
I wasn’t in good terms with Paris. Until that day. Until I stood there, with two of the people I love most, on the rooftop of Les Galeries Lafayette. Speechless, we looked at each other. We were all absolutely smitten by the beauty of the cityscape full of character. The cold air sneaking in under our winter coats and brushing our skin didn’t matter. Even under that massive cloud of pollution, the city of lights looked more majestic than ever, and the Haussmann buildings invited us to embrace their Paris – artistic, moving, and in love.
“If you’re looking for the word that means caring about someone beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want no matter how much it destroys you, it’s love. And when you love someone you don’t stop, ever. Even when people roll their eyes, and call you crazy. Even then. Especially then.”
– Ted Mosby, ‘How I met your mother’
“Sur le Pont des Arts, mon coeur vacille.
Entre les eaux, l’air est si bon
Cet air si pur, je le respire
Nos reflets perchés sur ce pont.
On s’aime comme ça, la Seine et moi.”
– ‘La Seine’ written by Mathieu Chedid & sung by Vanessa Paradis
“I became an artist & thank God I did because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life”
– Viola Davis
