Norwegian Trafalgar Square

As I’m going back in time tonight in Christmassy London, I think of this beautiful gigantic Norwegian Christmas Tree taking centre stage in Trafalgar Square.

This Christmas Tree has been donated to the people of Britain by the city of Oslo, in Norway, since 1947. This traditional Christmas symbol has thus been the token of gratitude for the support Britain showed to Norway during the Second World War.

This historical tree is illuminated in a hopeful blue colour from early December until the beginning of January, and sure has brought some hope and light to the hearts of those who needed it most this Christmas…
