You know how much I love the work of Liz Osban and as she launched a brand new exhibition (entitled Elsewhere) not a long ago, I couldn’t help sharing some of my favourites photos with you.
This new bunch of photos particularly moved me. Probably because the emotions that Liz conveys through her photos are emotions I have myself already experienced… She describes her new work of art as follows…
Elsewhere was inspired by the 5 main conflicting emotional states I was grappling during depression: Longing, Hope, Melancholia, Wonder and Dreams, specifically Nightmares. Each design, colour and scheme was created based off the world my mind would wander to when it was “Elsewhere”. – Liz Osban
Longing. Hope. Melancholia. Wonder. Dreams and more specifically Nightmare. Such invading and powerful feelings, which do not always do you good. They can be beautiful and inspire you, but they can also fucking hurt too, distort your stomach and transform the tickling butterflies into the most hideous devouring demons!
In short, they are beautifully awful feelings.
